Venus in Virgo to Libra: Let Go of Perfectionism and Invite Joy Back In ✨

We’ve officially made it through eclipse season. The Aries Full Moon earlier this week wrapped it up — marking the first lunation after the eclipses and closing that intense energetic cycle once and for all. Finally, the air feels lighter.

For me, eclipse season always brings a kind of laser-like focus — almost like tunnel vision — where the universe highlights certain areas of life and says, “Pay attention here.” Everything else seems to fade into the background.

This one, especially, felt like a cosmic to-do list. Fitting, since we had a Virgo eclipse in the mix. Everything felt urgent. Everything felt like it needed fixing or fine-tuning right now. While that kind of energy can be productive, it’s also exhausting. Now that the dust is settling, I feel like I can finally breathe again — like I can come back to myself. And with that, it’s time to shift our attention to something softer, something beautiful — our girl, Venus.

Venus Energy: Love, Beauty, and Connection

Venus rules over everything that makes life feel good — love, beauty, joy, art, and connection. She governs two zodiac signs, Taurus and Libra, and arguably, those are two of the most beautiful times of the year.

In Taurus season, Venus thrives in the tangible world — flowers blooming, warmth returning, the feel of sunlight on your skin after winter. Venus in Taurus delights in sensory pleasures: soft blankets, delicious food, and physical comfort.

In Libra season — where we are now — Venus moves into her social, relational element. This is the Venus of golden-hour gatherings, laughter across a dinner table, weddings, and weekend getaways that fill your heart (and your calendar).

It’s no coincidence that October is one of the most popular wedding months. Venus is calling the shots right now, and she loves bringing people together.

Why Libra Season Hasn’t Felt “Libra” Yet

Even though the Sun has been in Libra for over two weeks, the season hasn’t quite felt like Libra. That’s because Venus — the ruler of Libra — has been traveling through Virgo.

When a sign’s ruler is in another sign, it shifts the tone of the entire season. So while Libra energy is all about balance, ease, and connection, Venus in Virgo brings an undertone of refinement and correction — the urge to fix, organize, and perfect before we allow ourselves to relax and enjoy.

Venus in Virgo means well. She’s thoughtful, devoted, and sincere. She shows love through care, effort, and attention to detail. But when that energy tips out of balance, it can start to feel like nothing is ever good enough — like you can’t fully enjoy what you’ve created because your mind keeps scanning for flaws.

And that’s exactly where I found myself.

A Personal Story: My Crochet Project and the Perfection Trap

A few months ago, I started a crochet project — a cozy fall cardigan. It was supposed to be fun, creative, and relaxing. But as I got closer to finishing, that Venus-in-Virgo voice took over.

I fussed with every little detail. That stitch looked off. That row wasn’t perfectly straight. The sleeves looked too long.

And so, I kept putting it off. I was afraid it wouldn’t look just right in the end.

Finally, last week, I decided to just do it. I was tired of staring at unfinished pieces and ready to move on with my life. So, I seamed it together — imperfections and all.

And you know what? It’s not perfect. But it’s great. It’s the first thing I’ve ever made that I can actually wear. When I put it on, my daughter Lily said, “Mom, that’s so cool. I want to make a sweater too.”

My finished, imperfect project inspired her to create. And that’s when I realized — the timing couldn’t have been more cosmic.

Venus Conjunct the South Node: A Cosmic Invitation to Release

Right as I was letting go of my need for perfection, Venus was making her annual conjunction with the South Node — a transit that’s all about release. This alignment happens every year, but always in a different part of the sky. Last year, Venus met the South Node in Libra, bringing lessons about releasing relationship patterns that blocked connection.

This year, Venus met the South Node in Virgo — and the message was crystal clear: release perfectionism.

Let go of the need for everything to be “just right.”

I even peeked ahead: next year, we’ll have one more Virgo release, and then in 2027, Venus will meet the South Node in Leo — shifting the story to themes of self-expression and creative courage.

That’s what I love about astrology: these cycles repeat, but always in new signs and new areas of life. Each one invites us to let go of a different layer of what’s been holding us back — from love, from creativity, from joy — right on time for our soul’s evolution.

From Perfection to Presence

As I was obsessing over every tiny detail of my sweater, Lily was quietly watching — and feeling inspired to start her own project.

Now, we sit side by side, each with our own yarn, colors, and pace. She’s laughing when her stitches go uneven. I’m learning to do the same. And as we crochet together, I can feel Venus smiling.

Because that is Venus in Libra energy — doing something beautiful together, connecting through the creative process, and being present in the experience.

The realization hit me hard: I’d been holding onto Virgo perfection so tightly that it was stealing joy from things that used to make me happy.

Lily doesn’t care if her stitches are perfect. She just wants to make something. To try. To play. To enjoy. And that’s exactly the medicine this season is offering us.

The Astrology of Letting Go

We’re moving out of Virgo’s analytical mind and back into Libra’s open heart.

If you’ve been stuck in your head — worrying, planning, over-correcting — this is your reminder to breathe again. Trust that love and beauty don’t need perfect timing. They just need presence.

Wherever Venus and the South Node are meeting in your chart, that’s where you’re being asked to release. It might be a mindset, a habit, or a belief that joy has to be earned.

Let it go.

Let yourself feel the beauty of being in progress — not finished, not flawless — just becoming. Because that’s what Venus really wants: for us to love ourselves right where we are.

Beauty doesn’t live in perfect things. It lives in living things — in the way we show up for one another, in how we create, connect, and care. In the way we love — even when it’s messy.
